Welche Vorteile haben recycelte Materialien?

Die Herstellung von Recyclingmaterialien wie beispielsweise rPet (recyceltes Polyester) verbraucht 33 % bis 53 % weniger Energie als die Neuherstellung von Polyester. Außerdem produziert rPet etwa 54,6 % weniger CO2-Emissionen als reines Polyester.

Durch die Verwendung recycelter Materialien zur Herstellung von Dingen wie dieser recycelten Badehose mit Allover-Druck landet zumindest ein Teil des erzeugten Plastikabfalls nicht auf Mülldeponien.

Was ist rPet?

Recyceltes Polyester (kurz rPET) ist ein Stoff, der aus bereits verwendeten synthetischen Fasern hergestellt wird. Durch Wiederverwertung dieser bestehenden Materialien (z. B. Plastikflaschen und -verpackungen), welche immer noch alle Eigenschaften und Leistungsmerkmale eines normalen Polyesters besitzen, bietet es eine nachhaltigere Stoffalternative.

Wie wird recyceltes Polyester hergestellt?

Recyceltes Polyester wird hergestellt, indem Plastikprodukte in kleine Stücke zerkleinert werden. Diese kleinen Stücke werden dann zu Garn verarbeitet, in eine Faser umgewandelt und am Ende in einen Stoff verwandelt.
